Photo session adventure

We had the kids pictures taken last Saturday and we took lots of time coordinating what to wear, and where to go, and the time of day that was best, and then when we got there Caleb stepped right in a pile of Dog doo doo. It was completely gross and he did not like it one bit. Before we realized what it was, it got onto Brent's crisp white shirt and completely ruined our carefully planned photo shoot. I was able to take a few pictures after the photographer left with my little point and shoot. We just removed the shoes and had Caleb in socks.

It will be interesting to see what the photographer got with his camera. It was still a beautiful day and I am glad we made the effort to do this even if we are in the process of scheduling round 2-maybe we will choose somewhere that dogs would never visit. If you have any suggestions for great photo places around the Denver area-please let me know.

a banner day

Well some of you know that Halle has been wanting a bike for quite some time now and she started working towards that very thing earlier this year. (since May) She had a chore chart and earned stars by doing various chores in her room and around our house. She finally earned enough to get a bike, and I had been looking around when one day on the way to school I saw a garage sale with a pink bike-what a blessing! I didn't say anything but went right back after I dropped her at school and snatched up the bike. It was perfect but missing the streamers she desperately wanted so I bought a pair at Walmart and tada....Halle's perfect starter bike. She could not be happier and has been riding it and singing non stop ever since. We gave it to her the day after Caleb's birthday so she can ride it before the snow flies...the leaves are just starting to fall.

The first glimpse....

One truly happy girl!

and a very Happy Birthday it was!

We did have a fun weekend celebrating Caleb's second birthday. It rained the morning of his birthday, and he was teething the night before so he slept in until 9am and then we took him to Village Inn for some pancakes and bacon-one of his favorites!

We waited to celebrate until Halle got out of school and then we went out to dinner at Tuk Tuk Thai Grill and then home for cake and ice cream. I was taking pictures of his train we found while in Breckenridge, and the small cake with candles and I had walked out of the room for a minute, when I returned we all noticed that there was some frosting missing from the cake. We then found a two year old with frosting around his mouth and his fingers. He had pulled out the chair and climbed up onto the table to get into the goodies. What a sneak! Later he would not eat one bite of his cake and ice cream we could not figure out if it was due to the teething or what??

We took some pictures of Caleb playing with the cute toys that you gave him Auntie Heidi and Tanner and Chloe since you could not be here. The green frogs are a definite winner!

Boy oh Boy!... you love trains Caleb Jack....

I had to put in this picture of my Grandma Suz with Caleb on Sunday-they have such a neat relationship and this picture makes me smile! I will cherish it always....

this was interesting

You Belong in 1981

Wild, over the top, and just a little bit cheesy. You're colorful at night - and successful during the day.

I just took this quiz-I guess I must belong in the 80's.....those were the days! I would rather live in the present.

gets very excited when any food is put on the table-favorites are rice, meat of any kind, spaghetti, mashed potatoes, soup of any kind, tuna, chips, bananas, cancakes(pancakes) bacon.....you get the point-this boy eats everything!
He is into push toys-lawn mowers, doll strollers, shopping carts
plays very physically-headfirst down the slide, pile on game with lots of giggling and piling on top of eachother...

Our newest and youngest employee

The other day that house got very quiet-it is more quiet on the whole these days with Halle in Kindergarten 3 days a week-however, Caleb is hardly ever quiet so when it was extremely quiet down the hall, I went to check things out and this is what I found. You guessed it...Caleb had climbed up on my desk and was operating the mouse and typing at the computer. He was so proud of himself and I couldn't be too upset because this is what my kids watch mom and dad do off and on all day long for work. My mom and dad always joke that our kids will definitely know how to talk on a cell phone, use handheld devices, and negotiate deals with candidates before the age of 10. They will undoubtedly know how to use the computer and the mouse before the age of 2 as well.

Finally some scrap therapy...

I have been scrapbooking this week! I started on Sunday with a page for Halle's baby book and now I have 5 total done....yes! you heard me right, 5! The first one took the longest because I am somewhat out of practice and when you are working on a baby book for your precious daughter who is more excited about the book than anyone, then you want things to be done right the first time. This may never happen again. (Sorry Caleb) Without further ado, I would like to thank my sister for inspiring me with her kits-they are genius-especially for people like myself who never make it shopping outside or on the web, and who don't live near any great scrapbook stores-not even an Archivers or a Hobby Lobby. Target is about it, and of course I do frequent it. I also want to thank my mom for her patience to help me with the sewing machine so I could sew on a page-I totally loved it and will be doing some more of that! I only have pictures of the 1st 3 pages so far-my camera battery died......here they go
