some Spring Break fun and sneak peeks....

I cannot believe tomorrow is the final day in the month of March! This month has been a busy one and is ending with a bang. Currently, I am sitting on my sisters couch blogging as we are here visiting for Spring Break and my nephews birthday party. We have been talking, laughing, playing, reading, and in general enjoying being together. My little boy keeps asking me everyday if we get to stay and play again...he seems worried that we are heading home and he won't get to play with his cousins. We have celebrated 3 birthdays over the past 4 days. My birthday was spent getting ready for the trip and driving here but then my sister surprised me with a fun concert on Saturday night after she threw a HUGE birthday party for my nephew. She has a lot of energy...obviously I am the older sister. My husband and I had stayed up all night and drove straight through with the kids so I had no sleep for over 33 hours?? Not entirely sure but I was up too long and will have to settle on being sleep deprived because my sister is a NIGHT OWL and I am staying here all week. She is giving me an education on T.V. show series, Midwest rituals, lady bug anatomy and patterns, Pilate stretches, etc. On Monday, my darling daughter turned
7!! How can it be that I actually have a 7 year old. I will devote a post later to that very topic. We celebrated with dinner out, carousel rides, yummy ice cream and a beautiful drive home with a view of a pink sunset and a full moon shortly after. A near perfect day.

Onto the sneaks of my Freehand gallery...

Hope you have a fabulous week and please check out the kit on the 1st of April! It is an amazing kit with the best mix of new products from CHAW and lots of fun embellishments-including one made by my very own talented mom. It is soooo cute!

baby it is cold outside

Had to quickly share so I won't forget that tonight for the very first time we needed to put snowboots on both of our kids. Caleb, who as an infant would never wear hats of any kind, now loves them and wants to keep them on at ALL times. He loves to say HAT! HAT! to anyone who is wearing one. He can now say boots and loves the little black snowboots that found a home on him tonight and now he won't take them off his feet!(thanks to Tanner we have several footwear choices everyday) He may be wearing his hat and boots to bed tonight!! He is currently sitting in the living room watching a short Christmas movie wearing his snowboots and striped stocking cap. Tis the season for snowy coldness and boots, hats and mittens! Hope you are staying warm....

been taking a break

I have been taking a break from blogging and reading blogs and internet in an effort to catch up with family things, work items and just have some reprieve overall. I will try to be back soon and to keep recording family happenings and things once again! I will let you know when I return....

Thanks so much Heidi.....

I was tagged by my wonderful little sister-I can say that as I am officially 19 months her senior. I guess what you then do when you are tagged is to pull the 4th picture from the 4th file and talk a little bit about it! I guess that I am supposed to tag 4 other of my friends who blog-but truth is that most of my friends do not have a blog so I guess it will stop with me.
Random but here it is....It is a picture I took of our cabin that we bought into just under 2 years ago in the Southern Colorado mountains. This picture is one that I took to begin to advertise and rent it out occasionally. In the last 1 year plus our family has enjoyed many memories there filled with adventures. It is a place for my husband and I to go and get away from our business (that is nearly impossible to do) We have no Internet connection there, and cell phone coverage is spotty at best. There is no T.V. unless you want to watch a movie via DVD. Across from those chairs is a cozy fireplace that is wood burning(similar to what we had in our house growing up) We love having this tiny piece of heaven. There is the most spectacular view just out the windows on the left in the picture of the entire Sangre de Cristo mountain range. We have spent many afternoons on that porch praying, meditating, thinking, and just getting away from the busyness of the city we live in. Here's to many more memories in that very room!

Dear Mr. Obama

Had to share this before a critical election....I am definitely proud to be an American!!

Goopy fun...

Only time to share our goopy pumpkin carving fun last night! We only had time before bed to carve 2 out of 4 pumpkins but it was fun for all and Halle drew her own face on the pumpkin this time and carved it with some help from mommy. Caleb wanted to draw all over his 2 pumpkins and then cried hard because he wanted to handle the knife himself to carve it. Needless to say he ended up with not a single cut in his pumpkins-maybe next year he will understand....Happy Halloween!

Oh, my look at the time...

I really cannot believe the week is nearly over and I have not accomplished all that I set out to do earlier this week. The time has flown and we are supposed to be up in the mountains as we speak enjoying a break from work, etc. and Halle's school fall break. We may still make it up there, but this is the nature of what we do having our own business in that we can never really plan on being gone or a time we might leave because something with this business always comes up. So here I sit waiting to see what the day holds and not really knowing how to plan. I have not been really motivated to blog due to my camera breaking, and the lack of major, fun excitement happening in our lives, however the good news with regards to the camera is the screen was cracked and was covered under our warranty and it has been fixed and I get to pick it up today! I must say that I have missed it more than I imagined. I have said more than a few times-"Oh, I wish I had my camera" or "that would be a cute picture!" I participated in a shopping/Pottery Barn study last night for two hours and received $150.00 for my time. It was fun to discuss home furnishings, customer service, prices, quality, and style for two hours with 5 other women and one man. It was an interesting assignment and you never know I may be a small part of the changes you see in Pottery Barn in the coming months! It is exciting to be a part of something that may create change for the better.

If you haven't taken a look at my sisters latest kit due out November 1st then you should check it out today HERE and she will save one for you if you would like. I have finished a few more pages for Halle's baby book and her school book but have no camera at the moment to snap a few pictures of them. Yes, I have started her school album and have a preschool and kindergarten page already comleted and readye to be put in there. This is major progress for me since I have not scrapbooked consistently for quite a few years. Well, no matter how you spend your time this weekend, I plan to spend some quality time doing something of value to the Lord and for my family. I have to post a picture!! I will pull a couple shots from the week in the life project Ali Edwards had us do with her. Caleb visiting the park in our neighborhood and Halle at a swim party for thirty 5 and 6 year olds!
