Had to share this....

I am constantly amazed at my little girl. She is the deepest, most sentimental, complimentary little girl I have ever known. She is always saying things like "You are the best mommy" or tonight when I was reading her a Bible story about Samson and tucking her into bed, and then discussing what we had read-I asked her questions from our story book that are part of the authors writing to review the story. One of the questions asked what the best gift she has ever received was and she hesitated but then answered saying "you,Mom". The next question asked who gave you that gift? She thought and then replied "Jesus" Then she told me all about many gifts that Jesus has given her and how much she appreciates Him. She said that she is very thankful God gave her an imagination so she could dream and imagine things and that she uses her imagination to help her in learning things at school each day. I agreed with her that she is very blessed to have that imagination from the Lord. She said " I want to thank Him right now!" and she started in a prayer that went something like this. (I so wished I had at the very least a tape recorder handy) Dear Jesus, thank you for this beautiful day, and thank you for the wonderful family you have given to me. I also want to say thanks for the great imagination you have given to me. I am using it at school everyday. Give me sweet dreams as I sleep and Thank you Lord. Jesus you are the One! In Jesus name, Amen.
A big huge smile spread across her face and mine....I think we should all stop tonight to tell the Lord thank you for something so simple and wonderful as our imagination. Maybe even the fact that we have a mind that is working, and heart that is beating. I am thankful for this! :) I love how a child so innocently thanks the Lord and expresses their heart. I want to be more like that little girl of mine. Thank you Lord for showing me this through the eyes of my child.

Quick Post...

Good morning and a quick post to share with you to please pray for my dear friend Amanda as she was admitted to the hospital yesterday. You can read more here about the circumstances with a 30 week pregnancy that has now put her in the hospital. She and her family need our prayers! That baby boy needs as much time in his mommy as he can have.

Additionally, I thought I could share a couple more pages I have worked on for Halle's baby book. I am still wanting to scrapbook-I really think it is addicting once you start up again. (It doesn't hurt having two cute kids to take lots of photos of everyday.) This page happens to be our wisdom for her life or what we want to tell her. I think I will be looking at it often to take my own advice...it is a great reminder.

these are the first visitors at the hospital...if you click on any of the pages they get bigger.

Hope you have a great day and Mandy and Family we are praying for you, and it was nice talking with you last night! Can't wait to see what God will do in this.

Photo session adventure

We had the kids pictures taken last Saturday and we took lots of time coordinating what to wear, and where to go, and the time of day that was best, and then when we got there Caleb stepped right in a pile of Dog doo doo. It was completely gross and he did not like it one bit. Before we realized what it was, it got onto Brent's crisp white shirt and completely ruined our carefully planned photo shoot. I was able to take a few pictures after the photographer left with my little point and shoot. We just removed the shoes and had Caleb in socks.

It will be interesting to see what the photographer got with his camera. It was still a beautiful day and I am glad we made the effort to do this even if we are in the process of scheduling round 2-maybe we will choose somewhere that dogs would never visit. If you have any suggestions for great photo places around the Denver area-please let me know.

a banner day

Well some of you know that Halle has been wanting a bike for quite some time now and she started working towards that very thing earlier this year. (since May) She had a chore chart and earned stars by doing various chores in her room and around our house. She finally earned enough to get a bike, and I had been looking around when one day on the way to school I saw a garage sale with a pink bike-what a blessing! I didn't say anything but went right back after I dropped her at school and snatched up the bike. It was perfect but missing the streamers she desperately wanted so I bought a pair at Walmart and tada....Halle's perfect starter bike. She could not be happier and has been riding it and singing non stop ever since. We gave it to her the day after Caleb's birthday so she can ride it before the snow flies...the leaves are just starting to fall.

The first glimpse....

One truly happy girl!

and a very Happy Birthday it was!

We did have a fun weekend celebrating Caleb's second birthday. It rained the morning of his birthday, and he was teething the night before so he slept in until 9am and then we took him to Village Inn for some pancakes and bacon-one of his favorites!

We waited to celebrate until Halle got out of school and then we went out to dinner at Tuk Tuk Thai Grill and then home for cake and ice cream. I was taking pictures of his train we found while in Breckenridge, and the small cake with candles and I had walked out of the room for a minute, when I returned we all noticed that there was some frosting missing from the cake. We then found a two year old with frosting around his mouth and his fingers. He had pulled out the chair and climbed up onto the table to get into the goodies. What a sneak! Later he would not eat one bite of his cake and ice cream we could not figure out if it was due to the teething or what??

We took some pictures of Caleb playing with the cute toys that you gave him Auntie Heidi and Tanner and Chloe since you could not be here. The green frogs are a definite winner!

Boy oh Boy!... you love trains Caleb Jack....

I had to put in this picture of my Grandma Suz with Caleb on Sunday-they have such a neat relationship and this picture makes me smile! I will cherish it always....

this was interesting

You Belong in 1981

Wild, over the top, and just a little bit cheesy. You're colorful at night - and successful during the day.

I just took this quiz-I guess I must belong in the 80's.....those were the days! I would rather live in the present.
