checking in...

Things have been busy over the last week since getting home and it just seems to keep on coming.  We have been home a week and it has been all work including lots of laundry, dishes, catching up, and of course, no time for blogging.  I am still feeling a bit fazzled but things are settling in.  Today started events for Brent's high school reunion.  20 YEARS!!  Wow-time flies!  I think all of these events get you thinking about how the years do roll by and for us how fleeting is our life on this earth.  Lamenting on the verse again today Set your mind on things above not on things of the earth Col. 3:2.  Our life is like a blade of grass that withers and is cut down and dies.  But the good news is there is hope in the Lord.  Death is not a permanent thing.  We will be with him in Glory forever if we choose today to surrender to His will and invite him to be the center of our lives and ask for forgivness of our sins.  Halle and I have been having some deep discussions this week about spritual things and it has been very good.  She did ask me if we would be going to heaven together because she doesn't want to be there without me or go there before I do or stay on this earth apart from me.  She also has been praying for all of the people who don't know Jesus that we could share with them or they would have the opportunity to know Jesus because he loves and want to have a relationship with them.  She is so serious and sincere about this.  Now that we have diligently been praying this way- we better take those opportunities to share and be willing and obedient to the Lord when those times present themselves.I did have to share some photos from my trip to Chicago and the cousins reunite!  Some of these are not the best photos but certainly treausured memories for us!  These cupcakes were one of my favorite crafts using paper and other supplies at CHA in Chicago.  There are more photos to share but I must get ready for the Big Reunion!Talk to you all later! The four of them together-how sweet!

holly.
i've been waiting for those pics...
adorable! i think it is amazing that
a 5 year old is thinking and grasping
the concepts of eternity and who will
be there and also that we need to share the good news of Christ all the
more because life is fragile. thanks
for the journaling.
love you,
