Some time to create

I had some extra time this week-not really- but I took some sleep time away on two nights to finally play with one of my sister's great kits from the month of June.  I had an idea in my head of a page with that lace cardstock with all of the ocean/summer/beach words and I loved putting it together.  She is very talented, so I am intimidated by her work but I can still have fun and preserve some memories at the same time.  If you haven't you should check out her website for her monthly kit club.  www.freehandscraps.com.  I had so much fun that I took the kit and made another layout the next evening in less than an hour with two kids talking and distracting me.  I guess that I could set aside 30 minutes a week to put some thought into a fun hobby.  Let me just tell you that I cut the flowers out by hand, and painted the chipboard letters.  I have never done that before.  I distressed them slighty to look like beach letters worn by the saltwater.  The pictures are not the best but you get the idea.  Heidi wanted to see these....I even made a baby card this afternoon for a baby shower for my friend Renee who is expecting her 1st baby in early August.  It is kindof contagious once you start doing this again.  In other news, Halle started swimming on Monday and already loves it and was moved up from the beginning Starfish class to the Eels.  I knew she would do great and we are so proud of her for just jumping in and going for it!  One last thing we did this week was spend a few hours at the Littleton Historical Museum and Halle wanted to make sure to share these pictures with her cousins from the wagon ride, to the kitchen replica from the 1890's that is there to play in.  Can you tell they both loved it!

I almost forgot to include my favorite layout I made this one in less than 30 minutes. It is made from the freehand scraps June kit with a few items from my personal stash. Hope that you take some time to create something wonderful soon.

You're right that is the first official layout of Caleb. I was beaming when I completed it. Just a sense of accomplishing something. Now just to continue with it and get some more done of both kids would be great. Halle was a little jealous of Tate's baby book yesterday at the shower and he is not even born. I think it made me think what I should start with next-Halle's baby book.
